Overall, this was an outstanding experience. The advice on types of colleges to apply to and how to narrow the list down was extremely useful as there are so many schools to consider...Michele has a vast knowledge of the various schools and their environments and this helped my daughter to focus on which may be a good fit for her skill set and personality. Although she is attending her dream school (Brown University), she was exposed to and considered other schools due to this process... Michele also helped us (me) to make a decision on a summer program before her senior year. This advice proved to be an excellent decision, as not only did she enjoy it she gained new skills that she was able to use in her college application essays...I felt that the essay editing was the most valuable. Although I am a proficient writer, Michele understands what the admissions committees are looking for in applicants and helped us to focus on those items. I believe that this also probably saved us a few nights of raised voices.

Michele's guidance and advice through the college search process was invaluable for both of my children. She connects with teenagers in a way that helps them express who they are, and discover who they may want to be one day. She assists them with not only finding a "good" school, but makes sure they choose schools that are the best fit for them to achieve their dreams.

One of the most helpful moments early on in the process was Michele's explanation of why we would need to package my daughter's achievements. Of course, we think our children walk on water until you are faced with the reality that there are THOUSANDS of track team captains, and THOUSANDS of valedictorians, and THOUSANDS of class presidents. Because we started with Michele in my daughter's sophomore year, we had time to work on telling her story and building her experiences to make her stand out. I'm proud to say she's a happy freshman at Stanford and loving it!

The experience our family had with Higher Education Advocates met, and exceeded, our expectations. We started our journey in the summer of our daughter’s senior year, and finished all essays and applications before the Christmas holiday, which gave her several early college acceptance letters, and confidence in her choices of schools. Higher Education Advocates accurately guided her to the colleges that would be a great fit for her, and helped her articulate her story so that the colleges she chose had a real sense of who she was. In this highly competitive world of higher education and college admission, it is very important to utilize any resources available to help your child have a fighting chance to get a coveted spot in college.

I would definitely use this service again! The personalized service made the most difference. I ultimately decided to attend Washington University in St. Louis, a school I never would have discovered if it wasn't for Ms. Michele. I am so happy here and I think everyone deserves this kind of care in the process of selecting, no only a new academic center, be also a new home.
