Higher Education Advocates

“At some point in everyone’s life, we all start needing a little help.”
-Jim Robbins

The College Admission process is not rocket science, yet there are few things that produce more anxiety in families than trying to get organized to navigate this process. Higher Education Advocates is here to assist busy families with that process to help ensure successful outcomes.
A few things are absolutely true:

#1 This is NOT your parents’ college admissions process.   Ready access to information and the ability to apply online means that students today have before them an unprecedented array of options.   It can be very helpful to have a guide when trying to navigate these options, and identify the best fit colleges and universities for you.

#2 Admission to the most prestigious colleges and universities is MUCH more competitive than it used to be, with admissions rates below 10% at the most selective schools.   Applicants are far more accomplished than they once were, and believe it or not, preparation requires much more than obtaining top grades and scores.  The best strategy is to start early and to spend your time wisely taking advantage of “insider tips” that will make your admissions profile more attractive to the college of your choice.

#3 Our families are busier than ever,  and the college application process is time consuming.   Between work, school and other activities, our schedules leave us with too little time together as a family, and it’s important to spend it optimally.    School counselors also have case loads that don’t always allow them to spend as much time with your family as you might like or require to reach a successful outcome.   Investing in additional organizational tools that will help streamline the process is well worth it!

#4 College may be one of the biggest financial investments that you and your family will ever make, and you want to have the best information available to ensure a great return on that investment.  You’ll make the best investment with the help of  a qualified “investment advisor.”  Asking the right questions now will ensure that you make the best possible choice for your higher education experience.
